Unique Car Insurance

Post by Boris »

Guys,
Can anyone please share their thoughs about Unique Car insurance.
Especially ones that have had to do a claim through them.

I got a really good quote, for $770.
But i feel their customer service is sometimes not very good.
Edit: and half the time I can't even get through to their number.

The first time I rang, the guy was really cool, but the next time I rang to proceed with the quote I got an ****head on the line, wount go into that.

So now that leaves me with do I either:
a) go with the cheap quote
b) go with another which is a couple of hunder dollars more with a company that I have been with already.

Or option 3 go back to the company that you have been with and see if they will match or at least cut the premium down closet to Unique quote?

Well if they're being dickheads about it now, wait till you have to make a claim.. they'll try their best to squirm there way out of paying you out.

I have spoken with a few different people at Unique over the years.

There is one bloke there who comes across as a complete knob. He seems to only do new quotes though...........

Although I have never made a claim everyone else seems good to talk too.

Cheers

I reckon I know which guy you are talking about, and I agree, he's completely useless. Rude, unhelpful, etc. I was ready to go through them for my Celsior but after that guy made me jump through a million and one hoops I ditched them and called Shannons. Best decision ever. Saved me money, costs no extra to pay by the month, really friendly service, etc.

Before signing with anyone, try Shannons. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I got a quote through them and the service was pretty good. On their quote though, the car alarm had to be all black wiring, automatically immobolise and meent certain standards.

My alarm was installed over 6 years ago and I couldnt find any docs so I just stayed with Just cars.

Premiums are comparable ($100 more with Justcars) but excess with just cars is expensive!

When I get some time to find out about my alarm ill probably go through UNIQUE.

I asked Just cars to maktch the quote but they wouldnt, I then told them to match excesses but they wouldnt either! They have me for now - but not for long...

im under 25, i can't go through shannons i think cos they dont insure under 25s..

If your under 25, go through Young and Cool rather than Just cars.. Y/C charge $2600 as opposed to $2460 (Just cars), but access for Y/C is $1000 instead of $1850.

I called Shannons to get a quote, the guy said they don't normally insure grey imports but they do if the car has been highly modified or show cars and not driven regularly.
