Rotaries have a nasty habit of eating oil due to their "3 moving parts" design (two rotors, one crank. sounds like something else I know  ). Hence the need for necessary maintenance. You'll need to check the oil level at least once a fortnight, possibly more often depending on how old the engine is.

That being said, they rev their t!ts off and sound fantastic the whole time
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

until then:
1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver

people say revving the sh*t out of thge rotary once in a while also helps the engine (some oil issue)
another good reason to get one

yeah all you have to do is red line it at least once or twice a day just to prevent carbon build up.

Get a FD3S with dead engine for cheap and put a chevy small block in it like the guy below.
It'll save you the trouble and your big cash that you'd have to spend on maintaining or rebuilding the egg beater later down the road.

I would go for either the RX7 or Supra.
RX7 is more expensive though, and less reliable, but it looks amazing still and is rarer and also handles better.
Supra is bulletproof and you can get a really good one for an RX7 budget, and it would be more comfortable.

Definitely more dated, put it that way!

Probably going on a tangent, but to add to the list of variants.

If it was me, I'd be looking older than those choices!

Again, namely as I prefer 'effort in driving'.

Z31 300zx
EVO 4 (non active diffs)
Celica GT4
