Love your car the way you love your woman .. well not really ..

The moral of all past comparison between FTO's and others cars, if you want a fast car don't buy an FTO.

i've driven a long-time-ago integra... think 2nd generation of integra.. its the early 1990s one... well, the engine is a VTEC YO!!!!! but dont think it is better than the FTO mivec...

but the interior is much bigger i would say... not as squeezy as an FTO...

GPvR is a lighter car, it has a limited slip diff & better front suspension. So yeah... marginally quicker & better handling.

It also have the basic air-con instead of the full climate control and lots of sound proofing had been removed. The motor for auto folding mirror is also been removed.

fto = 15.412 sec for 400m, 10.035 sec for 200m
integra type r = 15.352 sec for 400m, 9.911 sec for 200m

but FTO start off faster though...
at least from the angle the video is taken, i think so...

Thats the JDM DC2R. At the end of the day, all teggy R are faster then FTO, if both driver are equal.

from here we can see that FTO is actually getting closer to integra between 200-400m...

its 0.124 second when they're in 200m, and its 0.060 second when they're in 400m... wonder what the result will be when they're in the 1000m??

lol dw u can be.. Bevin!

anyway, even though JDM is jap domestic market, just cos u buy a jap car doesn't mean it's "JDM" (well literally it IS but the way people see it nowadays is a bit different)
JDM is something which basically is tuned to the shitter with aftermarket parts, and surprisingly a lot of people base "JDM" on looks rather than performance nowadays.. it's all about having those original lightweight racing rims, or an imported kit that's rare to find in places etc etc
so it's a pity but most people decipher JDM by style over speed.

anyway was just clarifying exactly why JDM cars are normally faster

some simple examples off the top of my head...

JDM 200sx s15 = 184kW
Auspec 200sx s15 = 141kW

JDM MR2 SW20 = Turbo
Auspec MR2 SW20 = N/A

JDM AE86 = 4AGE 111kW (fuel injection)
AUS AE86 = 4AC 45kW (carby)

I've just read this whole thread. The way I see it is this .. When you're comparing two cars with such similar specs, it ONLY depends on how well the driver can thrash the sh*t out of the car. I've caught up to a DC5 while he was killing it (with smoke blowing out the exhaust) and I've also been eaten alive by a DC2 VTiR!

So I really think it depends on the driver and the driver alone.
