New BMW using Mitsubishi parts as main components

Post by FTO338 »

Yes thats right, everyone had been talking about the new BMW twin turbo e92 335i.

Its suppose to have lag free performance, which only one other car/model had claim, and thats Porsche 997 911 turbo.

I've got the following info from BMW.
Build to BMW specifications, the two small low-inertia Mitsubishi turbocharges provide air to three cylinders and operate together rather then sequentially.

Bmw specified that it wanted its turbines to tolerate high-heat operating conditions of up to 1050 degrees, more then 100 degrees higher then other turbos with durability equivalent to the life of the car.

It claims the special heat-resistant steel used in their construction is better then a ceramic turbine.
Imagine stick one of these turbo in a evo. :D

that looks INCREDIBLY complicated. Not much room for bigger turbos, by the looks of it?
