Wakefield Park Track Day Friday 11/11

Post by Shane001 »

Planning to head down to Wakefield Park in the next week or so for a test day. At Lawso's birthday I managed a 1:12 flat just warming up so keen to push it into the 1:11's or maybe even a 1:10 8)

Currently available dates are next Thurs / Fri (10 & 11th) or the following Thurs (17th). I'm thinking next Thurs would be better as the following weekend (19th / 20th) is the final round of the NSW State Championships so will probably be very busy on track.

So who's coming? :D

Edit: Anyone want to come down and help me out for the day? Transport food and drinks included :)

Awesome day at the track! U c**nts are missing out big time

There's hardly anyone here, 5 street cars and 4 race cars, and no open wheelers, so we're going back to back 20min sessions, tonnes of track time :D

And I've already cracked a 1:10 8)

First session was fucked as I forgot to set my throttle settings in the eMu.
Second session did a 1:11.8 (first PB for the day!).
Third session did a 1:11.5 (second PB for the day!!).
Fourth session... 1:10.9!! 8)

Brakes are still fucked though, overheating after about 3 laps

And for some reason the f**king eManage Ultimate is working today! Don't figure :?

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, and slower as the track got hotter.

Sadly my incar camera didn't save the 10.9 run :(

Thanks aza, I reckon it's easily good for a 9 now. The eManage is working nicely just need to tune it up. That should put me in the 9's. And if I could afford a new set of tyres I reckon it'd do an 8, maybe even a 7 8O Will need to start tweaking the suspension setup first though ;)

The best I have done is a high 1:14 with new rubber.
But the last two days out there have been 1:16's +, due to needing new back rubber and knowing it so not pushing the car.

Sorry for thread hijacking.

I'm very interested to know have anyone gave intercooler spay squirter a go? By locating it on the radiator.
Seen it been done in the 80's during the summer time. The windscreen squirter is relocated to the to top
section of the radiator with irrigation nozzle for nice even spary. Add a dash of methol in the washer bottle for extra cooling effect.
Thinking about giving this old school set up a go when the heat kicks in.

Hats off on the performance :)
