When can I remove my current registration sticker?
You can remove the registration sticker from your light vehicle from 1 January 2013. After 1 January 2013 it will no longer be an offence for light vehicles to not display a registration sticker, or to display an expired or damaged sticker.

We need a rego sticker burning party :P

hehehe, this prompted me to go look at my ugly rego sticker....
Which caused me to realise that it expired on the 8th of Dec 8O
yay for cheap rego $75 later and it's registered :)
It goes to show though that my car surprisingly doesn't draw any attention, as I've driven it almost every day since then into town

If you did that in South Australia they fine you more than the entire year rego in one. Some of the speed cameras also do registration checks now too, it's crap..

Here it's $500 for unregistered, which also comes hand in hand with $500 for uninsured.

Why?

NZ 0-10km = 10 points / 10 fines = 100 points / license gone
AU 0-10km = 1 point / 10 fines = 10 points / license not gone (2 or 3 points left)

I misread that, I was thinking he meant 10-20km/h over the limit... :facepalm2:
