Orange 1996 FTO GPX [SOLD]

Post by dstocks »

Thought id start up a new thread for this. The other one started as an EOI and you have to wade through quite a few posts to get to relevant information.

Up for sale is my manual Orange FTO GPX that Iwas using as my daily drive. I have put around 10000km on it since I registered it about 12 months ago and it is running beautifully and it does not have the common mivec tappet ticking normally associated with most of these engines (now has 239K on clock). Lots of meat on the tires, no roof rust and manual. Interior is near immaculate. It has just under 5 months rego still left on NSW plates. Oh and the orange Avery Dennision vinyl wrap is 2 months (or so) old, so REALLY stands out (cost $1600). Car is pretty much stock except stereo. Is a GPX, so MIVEC. Shell is dead straight although there are a couple of very shallow dents in the roof if you look at the right angle (hard to see due to carbon fibre). Has a rear strut brace and handles brilliantly. No noises or rattles while driving and steering and suspension feels tight.

Ive had the sale fall through twice now, most recently because the buyers parents offered him a brand new ute after he had put down a deposit. I need the car gone. Im not using it and it is just sitting there. As a result im setting the price low at $3000 (this price is firm). Given the condition of the car, this is a bargain.

Daniel2019 came down to look over the car before the last sale. His assessment was:
Yep literally could not fault the car on the drive and inspection. Pretty sure it has a heavy duty clutch too from the way it feels. No knocks or noises and steering was responsive as was the motor. Like I said to Dwayne I'm almost tempted to buy it myself..

You can get me at home on 02 4478 1311.

Oh, car is South Coast NSW. Some pictures:

Yep. Its about to lose the orange though :( Too much attention from the po po. Its so wrong. Its complete stock being driven by someone with a clear driving record and gets pulled over 4 times in 2 weeks just because it stands out. And I was told one of those times involved the police car flying past and stopping 1km down the road to try and ping the owner for speeding with a radar gun. Its pathetic. Bloody profiling......

Definitely is eye catching that's for sure! Funnily enough there was a police officer lined up along side of it at the lights when I was behind it  Not sure of the outcome though haha

Sad to hear that. Absolute rubbish.

It really is profiling. Completely unfair stereotyping and profiling..

Well that would explain things more than the colour alone.
