Jack's FTO GR

Post by ObsidianRadio »

Well here she is... I was going to call her "Red Rocket" but until Bennoz finds a new colour, I'll have to ponder a name for a little while longer!

Purchased her off a nice young Asian bloke in November 2011, and the car was intended for the girl but she fails at Veilside parking :troll:

It is my first Japanese car! My previous cars were overly powered vintage Commodores, but when I realized that I shouldn't be driving such boganwagons, I sold up and took the FTO, and bought a stock one for the girl!

Here's a list of what's been done thus far :)

- Whiteline polyurethane bushes
- Replacement droplinks
- GPX control arm conversion

So today, I got a little bored and thought that my interior wasn't quite red enough...
Decided that my speaker covers were a little boring, so I pulled out the paint and went to work!

I used VHT caliper paint because:
A) It was all I had left in red stock.
B) It matches the passion red perfectly.
C) I really like the matte effect for the interior!

A few coats of red later...

Made a stencil...

Image

A bit of liquid chrome...

TADA!!

I think it's a job well done :D

Apparently it's a parking sensor, and that box is a switch to turn it on and off... It's on the black GR as well so I assume it was a factory thing...
Found a switch for it under my steering wheel...
...Flicked it...
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEP*
Realises that the sensor's behind my Veilside bumper and that there's a reason it's switched off!

Im sorry Jack, but the "Red Rocket" is a registered trademark of Bennoz enterprises, a subsidiary of the Bennoz conglomerate.
Im going to have to ask you to cease and desist of any and all infringements immediately before further legal action is taken.
