so while saving up money to get the car registered i've been doing some small things too it.

next on the list is to sand back the peeling door trim/weather seals. then repaint them in matte black. is this the best way to do this?

also I am quite keen to change the wheel colour, most likely with a plastic dip spray.

I am thinking of going either matte black or gun metal for them.. like in the pictures

Plastidip sprays are a good cheap option, and make cleaning a little easier. I don't know how long it really lasts though. Haven't kept a set of wheels long enough to find out.
You could always get them powder coated if you intend on keeping them.
I waited until I needed new tyres and bought a wheel/tyre package. Only cost me an extra $400.

You could also canvass the forum for a wheel swap. White or black rims seem to sell really quickly this year so someone might be interested :?: .

Plenty of options...

The window strips are a bit of a pain as they are coated in a sort of plastic. You can get it off, bit takes a little more work.

Yea did the passenger side, didnt turn out too badly, will put a bit more effort into the driver side though. you can only tell the difference when youre up really close

I have thought about that, do they make much of a noticeable difference in keeping the rain out or anything?
