Yeah, he was eyeing off the new mazda red in the carpark here at work the other day actually.

So far he has made a number of improvements though:

1. Rebuilt and replaced Passengers side door. It started with absolutely no internals and he has put the lot back together again (should have got him to do a DIY)

2. Replaced rear bar. This included replacing rheo.

3. Replaced steering column. The old one had no ignition barrel and the top mount points were damaged. Now it is stable and covered with the appropriate plastic.

4. Rebuild indicator/wiper combo unit from pieces of others.

5. Rebuilt steering wheel including fabricating a new horn button.

Not bad for a 12 year old

Ive spent a couple more weekends on the blue and red cars and i thought id update my post.
    Red Car:
last weekend i fixed the broken window
    Image

I used a chisel to remove the glue. this is what it looked like when i pulled it out:

    Image

We bought some new glue and used this to glue in the new window.

    Image

The next job was to replace one of the headlights. We took the bumper off and took a pic of the old headlight

    Image

We took the old one out and put in the new one and here it is all back together.

    Image

    Blue Car

This weekend, we decided (me and dad) to remove the glue that causes the roof rust out of the blue cars roof. We removed the roof lining and used a hammer and paint scraper to get rid of the glue. Luckily we got it out before any bad rust had set in. Here is some of the glue

    Image

And here is the front roof without the glue. If you look carefully you can see small amounts of rust starting to appear.

    Image

    And here is the back

    Image

Once the glue was removed, we used some rust neturaliser to get rid of the rust. We havent had a chance to prime it or put it all back together yet, so more pics when we do that.

Don't think I'd ever actually seen where this goes! Does on use a different glue to hold the headliner up, or is there another solution?

We changed over the injectors and replaced the inlet manifold and throttle body today. was running larger injectors and a magna throttle body. Too much power for someone learning to drive..... Cameron did most of the work and we obviously got it right as its iding nicely and isnt running rich anymore.

Injectors and throttle body wouldn't do anything without a tune anyway ;)
