friend in QLD needs help

Post by okamitengu »

hey guys, i have a friend around here:

Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) it is just near Maryborough, and it is 1 and a half hours south of Bundaberg.

she has just been told its going to cost her a fuckload to fix a car. its magna. not sure what model.
anyone in that area or nearby with mechanical skills?

she just wants a second opinion to see if her mechanic is trying to rip her off cos she has boobs. not sure if the below quote is her failure to understand cars.. or the mechanic baffling her with bullshit

can anyone help?

"Oh dear just found out the hydrolic pump on my timing belt has gone (will cost $800 to fix) and on top of that my suspension is totally shot (cost $600)"

How does the mech know that the timing belt hydrualic tensioner is stuffed?
Is the engine running bad?

She should take it to another mech and see if the diagnosis is the same.
Then start talking about the costs.

i figured maybe someone here is free to have a peek for her. can only ask.

she is prepared to dump the car in her yard and wait to get another.
