A little help here!

Post by jOecherry »

Hey everyone....I bought a 94 FTO manual last week...The rocket cover seal is been glued by the former owner due to slight oil leak.
I have tried to attach the picture...but it's not letting me....
will this be enough? (Glue)
Any chance that it would last? I'm actually worries....
what if we replace the gasket? Cost?
Thanks to all in advance... please do help me...I don't know much about FTO :)

He would of used gasket maker (orange/grey/blue?), if he applied enough of it and you can't spot any leaks right now then it should be ok.

New gaskets aren't too cheap.

New gasket is pretty cheap, and most people put new gasket plus sealant on anyway (I don't)

Should be fine. If it starts to leak, then just replace it. Leaky rocker cover won't be too much of an issue anyway, but its better to fix if you can to keep it from dripping onto other stuff if it gets bad enough..
I fix cars.

MD309002 for the Mivec 6A12? Sorry haha, I thought it was more.

If you go into Repco or anything like that they will charge through the roof for it though. I got quoted around the $80 mark for two from the local parts stores.
