Cruise to Bonfire 2015

Post by PHIL069 »

Looks like it's time to start organising another SA cruise to Dwaynes place for the 2015 Bonfire.
I am happy to organise overnight stop overs again.
We can start thinking about our route, I know some of you would like to take The Great Ocean Rd and cruise through VIC.
This would allow us to meet up with the VIC's on the way through.
I am planning on taking a bit moar time off work this time around so I'm happy with a longer cruise.
I would suggest that we take the same route home as the last trip though.

Details of bonfire here...

Keen, also in favour of taking a route that is not all desert and salt bush. If we can nail down how long it'll take I might even put my leave in for work now haha.

I believe a cruise on the Great Ocean Road is a requirement this year. And i'll even buy a video camera for it

Time to get things organised.

Again I suggest camping each night, and again I am willing to organise bookings and money.
I might be able to organise 1 nights stay in Melbourne, depending on numbers.
Our return journey will be the same as last year, including 1 night in a cabin @ Hay (if available)

I have worked out a rough route for our journey, as requested this time via Great Ocean Rd and Melbourne...

https://maps.google.com.au/maps?saddr=P ... ,6&t=m&z=8

I will leave Port Pirie on Tuesday night, hopefully I can stay @ one of your places for the night.

Driving time - 2:30 Hrs
Night 1 Tuesday - Adelaide
Driving time - 6:11 Hrs
Night 2 Wednesday - Port Fairy, Vic (Picked just for you Jack)
Driving time - 5:13 Hrs
Night 3 Thursday - Melbourne
Driving time - 7:49 Hrs
Night 4 Friday - Narooma, NSW (The Vic crew will be staying in a motel, I suggest we stay in our tents @ a caravan park)
Driving time - 0:55 Hrs
Night 5 Saturday - Bonfire
Driving time - 6:42 Hrs
Night 6 Sunday - Hay, NSW
Driving time - 7:49 Hrs
Night 7 Monday @ home.

Let me know what you think and if any changes need to be made.

I need to know definate numbers so I can organise our stopover nights.

Putting in leave today, they are going to f**king hate me for it. Taking the 20th-4th off in a row, gives enough time for me to pre-prepare for the bonfire, and recover from the Bonfire. That way I won't be a pussy this year and i'll stay up all night and be merry :D. Nothing like committing half my years leave for the bonfire hahaha
