South Aus Cruise to Bonfire 2017

Post by bjk »

Righto folks. Time to plan our route for 2017.

Image

Phil has suggested that he would like to do an inland journey over to Sydney and maybe stay there a night or two. I personally (and Kiz) have agreed that we'd like to get to Dwayne's on the Friday to break up the driving too. Would be nice to take the drive a touch more leisurely, without being unduly slow.

I'm definitely going no matter which way we take. Drop your thoughts below.

Because I'm bored as hell and there's still a half hour before work... :lol:

Dunno what you had in mind for the getting there, Phil, but as an extended trip there, could do:

Monday 27th: Adelaide/Pirie -> Broken Hill
Tuesday 28th: Broken Hill -> Dubbo (?)
Wednesday 29th: Dubbo -> Sydney
Thursday 30th: Day in Sydney (?)
Friday 31st: Sydney -> Dwayne's
Saturday 1st: Bonfire
Sunday 2nd: Dwayne's -> (?)

Shortening possible by getting to Sydney in two days, or spending only one night in Sydney, or both.

I'll have a look at Google maps when I get home, but that looks pretty agreeable to me.

Mate, it's a good thing you're not studying to be an English teacher.

He saw it.
I have been reading the forum, but not much happens for me to login.
I have my annual leave approved.
Just hoping I have enough money.

Are you going Kiz?

Doesn't matter which way you go as long as you drift it.

Fly
I did that last year. But this year that would involve flying sometime Friday evening/Saturday morning. Someone picking me up, then someone dropping me off at the airport Sunday evening to be home for Monday morning.

And as it stands today, I've been informed my request to not attend tutorial on these days is not granted, therefore failure to attend may result in failure of topics

I'm sure we can figure something out with lifts.

Could always catch the Sydney-siders, then even the same on Sunday if anyone is willing, or Phil or I on the Sunday?

Sorry, I won't be going this year. Have no cash and my parents are coming for a couple of weeks to help me do some important work around the house. I have to install retaining walls and drainage around the house to stop winter rains from flooding the foundations.

All the sadness. :cry: but I understand the circumstances. Next year, bud!
