Is it possible? I've tried a fair few places already and they said no either because I'm 23 or because they don't cover imports.
And yes, I did use the search button but most of the posts that came up were old ones and I'm guessing prices would've risen a bit since then.

Afraid not, there aren't man people that will insure your car.
NRMA = $8500 per year (NOT a place to go to for imports)
Only other 2 options are Just Cars or "Young & Cool". Shanon's don't insure people under 25 and recently I heard GIO insure imports so give them a go.

I think GIO was one of the ones that told me 'no imports'. Tried Young & Cool and am waiting for them to get back to me with a quote. Just Cars wanted 4-5k and NRMA wanted even more.
Any other suggestions?
And what do all of the other under 25s on here do? Surely they're not paying those prices? I'm guessing either in parents names or just going with third party incl. theft?

Custom car through GIO can do it ... But you gotta ask for Custom Car ... (different number)
They put mine up to 2k, and that was for over 30 ..Grrr ... But they would have on record that i had lost my licence once ...
I have now gone to LSV ... 1k for full cover ... I think a few other members have gone with them ... There is a thread for them too ...

rock_it - That's WAY too expensive since you're over 25. Just cos you lost your license doesn't mean it skyrockets that much in price, I asked Just Cars when I called them almost 2 years ago, she said losing my license for 3 months meant price goes up by like $200.

I was insured with just cars for 1350, I lost my license for 10 months when i called them to renew, i told them about my loss of license expecting it to go up and it had been reduced to $950

Whats wrong with tassie![/quote]
Not sure if you were being serious but I figured I'd answer if anyone else was wondering. It would be down to a lot of different factors but just for a start from a purely population viewpoint where you live in Tassie would not have any where near half the accidents or thefts as Sydney. Meaning your car is not a much of a risk to the insurer as a car garaged in some parts of Syndey. That is probably being overly simplistic but I think it's not fair from the truth.

I told them about all the c/f parts though ... So they charge you more as you get more attention and are a likely target for theft ...sublime19 wrote:Over 25khunjeng wrote:

quoted from justcars, 97 gpx, stock except the stereo worth around $150.. im not sure if stock means none of the options but it looks like nothing else was done to it after the factory except for the stereo, quoted 2K with max excess.
dno.hopefully i can get something at least close to 1500, im 22 if that helps.

yeh im comp insured for $1600 (give or take a few dollars), just paid it last month. Last year i paid more though.
Im with just cars and im 20..... Mods didnt do much to the price though, last year i had all my ice and stuff like that and when i took them off the list this year they said it will only take 200 off the total cost. And the audio system cost me over a grand.
