2-door coupe RWD 200bhp for 29,990 new.
The 86 is launched from 29,990 price tag. That's unexpectedly cheaaapp!!!
Can't get any new 2-door coupe RWD 200bhp in that price range.

Ah the AE86 sprinter remake finally!
I doubt it was ever gonna be more expensive than that. Look at it as a cheaper release competitor for the SRI Turbo, XR5, Tiburon
Engine doesn't seem as sophisticated as an RX8, Civic Type R, MPS so maybe that's why the price tag is reasonable?

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Like everything except the rear end.
And I kind of find the name a bit tarted.
It in no way has any relation to the old times except for FR layout.
I dare say more Supra than Sprinter...
It's not far in style from an AE111, but you hardly would call that an '86'.
Ehh.

You didn't disappoint - although I was slightly surprised you weren't more negative

Re: 2-door coupe RWD 200bhp for 29,990 new.
I don't mind the rear, I'm at odds with the headlights, particularly the long bits. And I'm not sure about the indent-y 'u' shape on the bonnet. Still, looks nice.Astron_Boy wrote:Like everything except the rear end.
Also, GTS (I think) is more like 35,000, but still cheap.
Also also, forum is correcting capital u to 'you'. Wtf?
Alsoalsoalso, just any singular letter... c'mon, it's not just a 'gen y' abbreviation for 'you'.

Give the car a different name and put the concept tail lights back on it, and I have near nothing bad to say.

Haha, agreed. Said it before, wish they kept making them. The Tiburon went to 2008.PHIL069 wrote:bjk wrote:I don't mind the rear, I'm at odds with the long bits.

The old man is the GM of a couple of Toyota dealerships in NT & SA... I might see if he can arrange a "private review" of one of these vehicles, for me to report to you all! FINALLY Toyota release something that isn't completely mind-numbingly boring. >.>

Re: 2-door coupe RWD 200bhp for 29,990 new.
seriously wait for the STI (or equivelant) from the BRZ (which will be turbocharged and rumoured to be the next STI Impreza engine in a later model when released)
That 29990 is not drive away, it is about 33 drive away they state IF your 40 with a good driving record, goes up from there etc
Hopefully the STI BRZ (or again - the equivelant) comes in at under 40-45k
