Okay, motor pulled out today and started to strip it down. Need to get some bolts so I can put it on the engine stand as none of the gearbox bolts are long enough. Hopefully get the cams and timing chain off tomorrow before meeting up with family for Fathers Day
I'll have an FTO one day... i swear!

until then:
1. 2001 Merc-Benz A160 (porta-loo on wheels)
2. 2007 Peugeot 307 TDi (more fun than you'd expect)
3. 2009 Mitsubishi Triton Di-D (a monster in its own right)
4. 1992 Nissan NX Coupe (club car and project car)
5. 1996 Holden SB Barina - "The Nugget"
6. 1996 Jeep XJ Cherokee Sport - The Budget Build
7. 2010 Toyota Landcruiser 76 Series - V8 Goodness... - Build coming soon.
8. 1990 Audi 90 manual - The delightfully dignified daily driver

Only downside is a S/H box will have the same issues as this one, albeit without the busted fork.

Easier to just rebuild this one, that way I know what's been done to it and am not paying for someone elses f*ck ups
So I bought a S/H Box...

Managed to find a jap-spec 5speed gearbox from an N15 Pulsar SSS, so it's got the factory LSD 8)

New CV's and clutch need to be purchased now, and tossing up whether to get a lightened flywheel or to just machine the factory one. New engine mount bushes have gotta be bought, as well as all new suspension bushes, springs, shocks and strut bars (joys of working for a suspension joint  )

Basically, I'm going to keep it N/A and make it an absolute screamer. Will be lightening the con-rods (or replacing with forged items, depending on cash), balancing the whole lot with the crank and getting that lightened as well. Slightly bigger injectors, sticking with the factory single throttle body but going to port + polish the intake manifold.

Going to get the guys at Just Engine Management (JEM) next door to tune it for me, also deciding whether to run a Nistune reflash on the factory ECU or to go full aftermarket Haltech unit... Big price difference, but will it be worth the effort?

Alright. Heaps done so far today. Have pulled the head off, sump off, oil-pump off, re-located the block on the engine stand and 2 pistons out. All with the help of daniel2019 before he went to work

Hopefully be able to get the head done in the coming weeks, pistons should be easy enough to do myself. Then gotta get the crank lightened and re-balanced.
