Crossovers can go under the dash or back of the door.

I would suggest putting them inside the car instead of the door - i went to remove the crossovers that were in socks zip tied to the inside of the door, and the passenger side was completely corroded like all f**k to the point where i threw it out.
If youre going to put it in the door (which is much easier on the wiring though) make sure you waterproof it. Put it in a ziplock bag or something and tie it off tight on the wires so nothing can seep in. Just make sure when you stick it in there you dont hinder the movement of the window going up and down

I installed a set of 280W Clarion splits, put the 6" speakers in the doors and the tweeters in the dash. Sounds amazing! Will only set you back $100 for the set, and they sound clear as clear can be. Had them for over a year now, pump music loud all the time and have no issues! :)

The doors have drain hole in them so that water that gets in from the worn window seals can get out. the components in the crossovers are not water tight and will get damaged.
I put craftwood spacers in the doors of fto and they blew out ( swelled from water) within a month. had to put the plastic spacers back.
