Re: Project Sim
Hi Dwayne,
Just saw this pic of a guy doing a sim for a nissan, might be a better way of going about it + Cheaper and easier to setup a screen for it..

Re: Project Sim
Bahahahahaha.
Have already got one of those in the shed in exactly that config although ive used the actual FTO floor pan and cut with an angle grinder. Takes an xbox wheel. Wanted something more realistic though.
At the moment the front windscreen can be removed as ive cut it out. Only put it back to keep the dust and critters out, so can set up a monitor just behind the vents. Ill build a platform to support it.

Re: Project Sim
OK, so made some more progress:
Gear Shifter is bolted in. Because the FTO manual shifter is cable driven and there is no gearbox, I couldnt use the stock shifter. Looked into it, but as the shifter doesnt stick to a H pattern when there isnt a gearbox attached, there is no easy way to make it remote control the Logitech shifter unit.
Just got to finish making the custom stereo surround and wire in the stereo now.
Have also got the pedals sorted. This has taken quite a bit of work and no small amount of engineering.See how many FTO parts you can pick in the pictures....
Happy with the accelerator pedal as that feels about right, but the clutch needs a little more resistance and the brake pedal needs a lot more.I think im going to have to put some heavy duty springs under the pedals to sort this as I cant really put anymore stress on the pedal unit without risking breaking it.
Anyway, havent tested it yet, but no reason why it shouldnt work now.
