As per the title, my timing belt is due...
I was contemplating giving it a go myself but the internet everywhere seems to suggest I don't
Any suggested mechanics in the Sydney area?
My mechanic lacks an attention to detail I'd prefer for this job, and I'd rather not take it somewhere unknown.
Also any recommended brands on water pump and belt + part numbers for a GR?

Depends... do you know what you are doing?
If your answer is "i can change oil" then no, pay someone, and certainly don't attempt a water pump if you question "how"
