Intake manifold to head gasket - Single use?
Hey guys,
I took off the Y section of my intake manifold and wondering if those gaskets between the Y section and the heads are single use or can be reused again?
They are metal but it looks like the black paint is flaking.
Part # MD308040:

Where did you find that price?
And is it for OEM gaskets?
I found it for $7.92 on Amayama in Australia but they only have 1 in stock.
The rest are about $18 + post which is fine but they take 12 days just to post which is a fair wait.

There is a fair delay with Amayama though as the 2nd gasket will only ship in 12 days.
I just noticed that the original gasket protrudes inside a tiny bit too which I presume is because the heads have had a P&P and the Y section was match ported.
I bought some permatex fuel resistant gasket sealer and will grind out to gasket match the heads and reuse my current gaskets... Hopefully no issues otherwise will need to wait the 2 weeks and then replace them

The "Australian" option on Amayama is only faster if they have it in stock.spetz wrote:There is a fair delay with Amayama though as the 2nd gasket will only ship in 12 days.
Otherwise they have it shipped to their warehouse in Aus first and then post it out to you.
Whereas the Japan option is shipped directly to you from Japan, so it's quicker and cheaper.

The Japan option ships out in 6 days but there is an additional 1-2 day delay to get the shipping quote (with the Australia option you can order and pay immediately) and then there is the additional shipping delay from Japan.
Either way it would be a 2+ week wait minimum and the car is booked in next week at a couple of workshops so I can't wait that long.
I'm happy to take off the manifold and fuel rail again if it seems like there is an air leak after it's been to the workshops but as mentioned I bought the permatex fuel safe intake gasket sealant so I'm hoping that won't be necessary

They've changed the system. You no longer wait for a shipping quote. Can instant checkout even from Japan.

I did end up ordering them but now need to wait 2 weeks.
One of the things I was hoping to get done within the next week was getting it tuned though and now I may need to delay it.

I would've bought a couple. Match porting gaskets to ported heads & exhausts is a pain in the ass & you inevitably end up trashing one in the process.

I'm going to practice on my old ones and then hopefully get the new ones right.
Not much material needs to come off really, it is just a slight protrusion
