Can't express this enough. As a manager myself, I praise my staff so much for doing this. It's common sense really.

Thank you Phil!

I have two other potential positions - my next door neighbour said his brother is looking for an apprentice in the next suburb over from me and that if this one fell through to go down and talk to him, and the missus' dad knows a bloke looking too.

I will definitely consider that second link if this first one doesnt work out - its 10 minutes away from home ;)

Cheers mate

Yep pretty good so far.

Completely different to working at home though. Access to heaps better equipment and stuff so things are faster but its a little more stressful and a bit less enjoyable than sitting at home with a beer in one hand and a spanner in the other but still enjoying it!

Hahaha yeah. Filthy set of stock wheels, not even mags.. they were so dirty. We used two types of supposedly super heavy duty degreaser and there was still brake dust and grime on them..

Cheers man. Should be right.

They werent actually advertising or anything. A mate of mine who had done some bits of work here and there for him mentioned it to me and said that its worth a go if I went down and spoke to him so I did and it went from there.

The hardest stuff isnt actually doing work to cars its more the business side of things and learning how a different garage to my own works. For example if I was to do the same work at home I could do it my way, where as here it has to be how it has to be. Its probably not a bad thing because Im being taught good habits and all that kind of thing, but as of now Im still much more comfortable in my own garage but that should change over time.
