cheers for the welcome mate :)

im not planning on changing the pistons as the wife has says im spending too much. soo true lol
so going with the decomp steel plates to lower the compression just need to find out the size i need lol
i will start a project thread when i have more time ;)

3mm or 3.5mm?
Can get them custom made at Swanson gasket, NSW.

So dous that mean if i go for 1.25mm shims with standard gaskets that would give me the 3.5mm over all?

One piece gasket is more safe.
None MIVEC 6a12 is more ideal for turbo due to it's lower compression.
If you're not thinking about changing piston/con rods, then supposedly you can go for thicker gaskets.,By saying that you run the risk the gasket itself becomes part of the firing surface in the combustion chamber, not good.
I've seen engine with standard 10.8:1 compression down to 8.5:1 using 3mm.
