I just did a oil change yesterday.

I tried Castrol 10w 60($62.50) just for the hi temp' rating's

and its realllly noisy on idle, maybe 40% louder lifter's or something
allot more noisier than my last oil ( shell 5w 40($46.00))
so i think maybe anything under 5w would be ok?

hmmm i used to use mobil one but found it was kinda thin so i put in some motor up and its running very nicely, especially on startup.

I've tried other engine aditives but motor up seems to be the best so far.

I use Motul 10W/40 Semi-synthetic. I definately have noticed a change from my previous oil which was Shell Helix 15W/50 Semi-synthetic.

My tappets aren't as noisy now and my mechanic thinks that my tapets aren't really that bad anyway. So lucky me, as I have heard some FTOs with Tappets as loud as the engine!

I don't think I'll go full synthetic as it's almost double the price, but it doesn't last twice as long and well I think I agree with the person who said there's no point changing to full-synthetic now after so long.

I hear Castrol Magnatec wasn't too good though... I think everyone should be using MOTUL :D

Cheers,
B.

changing oil "brand or types" all the time aint going to do you much good either.

i heard changing types/brands of oil reduces fuel consumption...
