Post by nosman »

Hey guys,

Well its top priority at this stage hoping to do this within the next 2-3 months.
Does anyone know a good place for rent around the Brisbane area or sharing and got spare room to rent?

Looking at around $120-$200 p/w

Thanks 8)

well, where about in brisbane are you looking for?

i.e.
inner city (good luck for that price, i'm assuming u'll need a garage as well?);
northside (i.e. further north than where sam is);
west (if you dont mind getting mugged all the time, i know a couple of suburbs there in your price range lol);
east (cleverland/bayside etc... good luck going anywhere cos it's kinda out of way);
south (sunnybank, aka: "OMG, there's 2 white ppl in the same shopping center!! quick take a photo"... lol yeah i live here haha);
logan (bogan central; springwood)

lol nuh seriously, brisbane isnt as bad as i just made it sound
so, yeah may i ask why u moving up here?

As long as you bring some bottled water ><

Level 6 water restrictions really aren't that far off imo.

If you have no luck finding anything on the forums:

I was thinking the same thing... but naked... :lol:

Lukas: Yeah Sharing is going to be probably a must.
Instead of a sh*t $200pw place u have a smick $400pw place...
problem is though having to live with someone...
I'd let ya stay with me but only 2 bedrooms. sorry...
search around as much as you can.
Me and the missus had a place in surfers last year for $200pw (100 ea.) that was about 50m from cavill! however the location and crappy carport ment 2 dints in the side of my car thanks to some drunk C**T who was a little jealous.
Pick your location carefully. Remember if you're going to work in the city, u wanna live close. 10kms away can be a 1 hour drive in peak traffic.
This aint no port maquarie mate. 8am weekday mornings.. 10km of traffic at an almost standstill... ON THE M1 Motorway (4 lanes each way)

So get your new job lined up first... then try and be in a nearby area.
I am lucky. $150pw for a unit worth $650pw. That has city and river views, great area, coro drive, and a 2 km trip to work!
Remember, its not what you know... Its WHO you know.

sh*t sam, that's nice.

Currently paying 450/week in Bowen Hills... close to the RBH and pretty much smack bang on top of the new roadworks that's building the north south bipass tunnel.

Nothing like air filled with smog AND dirt from road works now... rarely go outside onto the verandah as it's invariably covered in sh*t.

Moving further north in about 4 months so it's less of a pain in the arse in my weekly coastal trips. Commuting to the coast FTL.

I miss living in a house. (want a big garage). Secure parking really sh*ts me now, especially when shown how easily some f-wits can steal your vehicles. I'd like to have at least a garage door that.. closed.

Yeah.. my main problem with my secure parking is its underground... and i scrape unless i go REALLY sideways up the ramp...
other than that its good.. out of weather and impossible to steal.. (have to get through 2 key activated doors and then into my personal garage (double car at least) and then past my alarm.
Then back out again up 2 levels of parking...

Your "secure parking" actually sounds secure sam. Ours is sh*t... and all together like a shopping center carpark... can get doored, can get sh*t stolen as demonstrated with my bike :(

Can't wait to move to somwhere I can drive out the driveway without having to go backwards to the intended direction and blocking off the entrance whilst doing so in peak hour... hahaha!

Fun times :oops:

Yeah, im happy with my parking.. although opening and shutting the door can be a pain in the arse if ya running late... then getting up two levels of speed bump filled ramps then the monster of a ramp as i leave the carpark... Can take a good few minutes to get onto the street. at least its started warming up by then though... :)
Currently uploading pic to give u an idea of what im talkin bout.
