Buying New Engine

Post by FtoSam »

Okay.
I've been thinking about this ever since i started looking at turbo'ing..
My plan of attack is:
Buy new engine. One in as good as cond as possible.
Strip it down and work on it as much as i can.
Focusing on the bottom end.
Blueprint, Balance, Sleeve, rods, whatever.
Want it to be absolutely bulletproof.
Doing as much work as i can myself.
Researching thoroughly.
Taking around 4-6 months to do it.
Spending around $6-7,000.
I want to do it once. Do it right.
Max power i would want is around 200kw.
And i want the engine to be able to handle it and more. and still be reliable as.
First question.
I have a microtech LT10s ECU.
Does that mean no difference between GR and GPX as far as slotting in?
As there is a GR currently for sale on ebay in bris.
Anyone?
