Just a quick note with the manual. This is for a 98 FTO. I've noticed slight discrepencies with my 95 GPX, including the pinouts for the ignition switch (and the ecu for that matter), so always confirm your wiring matches the manual before doing anything.

you have to get 2 closed circuit relays to cut the power to the car and use the start button to activate the 2 other relays. not sure what colour the wires are i done it some time ago.

Ryan, my sincere recommendation to you, if you are not skilled in auto electrical then either spend the countless hours you will need to learn this or leave it alone. I doubt anyone (me included) is going to be willing to provide you with advice that may see you frying your electricals and costing you thousands of dollars to repair. No disrespect but the fact that you can't find the diagram for the ignition switch tells me you have no idea what you are looking at. Maybe check out your local Tafe and see if they have any courses available.

Again no disrespect but this is a bit like playing in the Registry on your PC, if you don't understand it stay well away!

I am not going to be doing this myself but I am sending it to an electrician to be done I just want to roughly let him know what i need done that's all cheers that is running the relays such that one circuit works while the other does not and stuff like that so that I can use the button to shut the engine down without even using the key

You won't be able to use the button to shut the engine down, you would need to completely rewire the ignition and have a second button (or toggle switch actually) to turn the ignition on and off. Find an electrician who has wired up racecars and he will know what to do (you hope, I've seen some f**king atrocities done to racecars from people who supposedly know what they're doing).

Again my recommendation to you, just leave it alone, or learn how to do it yourself. I've learned the hard way time and time again if you want something done out of the ordinary learn how to do it yourself or expect to pay through your arse for someone else to f**k it up, then f**k it up further trying to fix it, then you take it to someone else who claims to know what they're talking about only to have to pay them to f**k it up also!

My last post on the issue. This is starting to bring back bad, heavily suppressed memories

Whats the point of a starter button anyway, you still have to put the key in and turn it.
