Hi My name is Pete and I recently got a 95 FTO and I need to replace the suspension, does any one know where i can get aftermarket parts?

Peter. Suspension is made up of heaps or different parts.
Do you mean:
Shocks, springs, sway bars, bushes, strut braces etc etc
Give us something to work with..

Yeah, we need more info. There's no such thing as a 'kit' as such.

Do the control arm bushes need doing? droplinks? Swaybar bushes? shocks? springs? strut braces? Do you want to lower it?

Give us some symptoms of what the car is behaving like & we may be able to narrow it down. Does it knock or crunch over bumps? Does it click & clack on full lock? When you push down on the front of the car does it bounce around when you let go or does it come straight back up & stop?

nonetheless it cant be bad as mine!

well, ye the RH Front control arm, leading bushes display free movement and inner leading bushes perish.

The guy servicing my car said it might cost me $1500 for it if it is not after market parts.

please help

Also rear suspension operation has a problem and that is it makes abnormal knocking noise from rear components over bumps.

Ok, front bushes are as follows, I would replace all 3 types with the below listed Superflex polyurethane type:

SPF1160 Front Control Arm - Inner Front Bushing

Very common for it to go - stock unit is a one peice rubber unit with steel sleeve. Is replaced by 2 of the part numbers mentioned above with new sleeve.

SPF1500 Front Control Arm Lower - Rear Bushing

If front control arm bushes are done - this one must be done using the same density material. Available in both stock size & positive castor type. The superflex type only give 0.5 degrees positive castor. Where as the Whiteline ones give 1.0 degrees. Part number KCA317A

SPF1344 Front Sway Bar Mount To Chassis Bushing (16mm)

For stock size, this is the way to go. If fitting larger sways (18mm) then go for the whiteline product KBR27-18

Thats standard issue bogan mechanic over quoting cause he actually has no idea what he's doing - so when it takes him 2 weeks to sort it out compliments of incompetance, then his quote will actually be realistic for the time he's spent learning about a car he's never touched..... Ok Im rambling on here

Some parts yes. The FTO has parts common to the Lancer, Mirage, Galant, Magna, Trition and others... depends on what bit it is you're after. If you know the part I can cross reference it with the parts database & give you the alternative part number. That way when you do need a genuine parts from Mitsubishi, you pay local car part prices & not grey import part prices.

Sounds bad. All new shocks... ugh.. i think Lukas had this done recently and cost some decent $$

Best bet for shock replacement is to get KYB Excel-G Gas replacements

Part numbers:
Front L: 334154
Front R: 334155
Rears: 341140

Best get your mechanic to buy them at trade prices from them. Around $490 for all 4 shocks delivered.

The rear trailing arm bush is also available as anaftermarket part
SPF1574 Rear Trailing Arm bush

Also available from the above metioned bush suppliers like Bursons or Fulcrum. They are a massive bush & quite pricey as a result - look at paying around $105 for the pair. Genuine Mitsi are around $200 each.
