Small Car Sunday (Cruise and Show'n'Shine)

Post by mikeyg »

Just thought if your looking to gain exposure for the club, maybe this could be an idea for you to organise a club entry.

The PGA have entered the last couple of years and our membership is getting stronger because people now know about the club. We took out best club display last year, with 18 cars (not all pulsars either). It's a great opportunity to get noticed, and a great day to get out and about with other car enthusiasts.

Looking like it's going to be in November 9-11th (plenty of time to organise) with events on the Friday and a show and shine on the Sunday. Here is the official site for more info. http://www.sportingcarclubsa.org.au/ Maybe give it some thought... :D

Definately a goer. Will look into it, and see about entering FTOA as a club. Might even see if we can get the FTOA Banner for it. With Autosalon on in August, we should get some good club exposure in the last half of the year.

Speaking of Autosalon... any news on that front SunsetAngel ?

OK, going to a meeting next Wednesday about the Small Car Sunday Cruise / Show'n'Shine.

Should be able to get all the details we need to enter as a club, but before I go, I'd like to get an idea of who would be attending to get approximate numbers.

So, Cruise is Friday night 9th November, and the Show'n'shine is Sunday the 11th.

Add your names to the list for what you would be interested in (conditions pending)

Friday 9th Cruise

1. Sparhawk
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Sunday 11th Show'n'Shine

1. Sparhawk
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Sorry i'm not really interested this year as my car is no way near ready. As you know my front bar is pretty badly damaged and won't have the funds to get it fixed before then. But it will be great to see some FTO's there.

Its not about hotted up cars... I want us to enter as a club to promote us and our cars. It doesnt matter if your cars are stock or not. Whats improtant is a good turnout. We had 3 cars at the MGEC SnS last year, and we got so much attention it was awesome. It's up to you but I would encourage you to reconsider. All you need to do is wash and possibly polish you car before you go, and just the fact its an FTO will be enough to make it stand out.

its not about the cars being show cars, its about groups and car clubs getting together others who appreciate cars. My car was entered as a non-judged vehicle, my car last year had dents in the front quarter and back quarter pannels. Good clean and polish (not saying the dents buffed out  ) but more importantly, its about getting people to know about your club and about taking pride in whatever you drive!! Its your pride and joy, thats all that matters.... this isnt autosalon!!!!

A good day out with mates!

P.S jamie (packers 4) will try enter with you, if his roster permits!

OK, Heres the spiel as per the paperwork I have.

Friday night cruise : starting from the city and culminate at a venue in the inner western suburbs

Saturday : Dyno day ($50) limited to first 35 entries

Sunday : Show'n'Shine held at Allan Scott Park (AKA Morphettville Race Course)
All club entries must include club name to be grouped together and received BY 2 November 2007.
All entrants must arrive by 9:00am, and no vehicle movement allowed till 4:00pm so plan on being there all day.
Fee for Show'n'shine is $27 per car including entry fee for driver +1 passenger, and an additional $10 to have your car judged (limited to first 150 entries) which I personally wont be doing. Im just there to promote our cars and the club.
Note : If we enter as a club with 10+ cars (yes we can do it) its only $20 per car !!!

So, lets get cracking ppl. Who's coming ?

Great !!!

Are you planning on attending the cruise on Friday as well, or just the S'n'S on Sunday ?

You will need to fill out an entry form (one for each car) which can be found >>HERE<<

As previously stated, make sure you fill in "FTO Australia" where it asks for Car Club.

The Sporting Car Club of South Australia contact details are;

51 King William Rd
Unley, SA 5061
Telephone: 08 8373 4899
Fax: 08 8373 4703
Email: sccsa@internode.on.net
