Thought I'd share some of the pics I got of Stuart's runs on Saturday.

For the record I reckon you did really well Stuart, I checked out the results last night and was pretty impressed.

Was on the day anyway, even with your trye problems the first 2 runs you had, keeping up with the MX5 and bettering the HQ RACE CAR's time by around a second I thought was good, and the stock suspension did make for some great shots, Ride that riple strip.

Check out the results on the QR website, for those interested they were running the sprint track.

Oh and sorry we didn't get any photos of the spin

Wrong side of the track. :)

first time @ QR in a fto. was really fun till i was side ways on the grass :P

car was great fun she will be better next time now the coilovers are in (bad timing race should have been this weekend)

blew my clutch master cylinder on the last session had to trailer it home. but its all part of racing i guess.

turns out the CE-CH lancers have the same part, so 15mins sunday afternoon and $35 later she is good as new

yeh, good to see you're getting the suspension overhauled... it definitely needs it if you're going to be doing track days fairly often ... You should also look into upgraded Front & Rear sway bars, F & R Droplinks, F & R Strut Braces, Lower F & lower Rear Strut braces (if you want to be anal about it) Polyurethane Bushes, Pillowball Strut Top mounts ... Whiteline is good for all those...
You also may as well get all the boots replaced on steering / suspension parts & get some bigger brake discs & new brake pads fitted while everything is off the car to fit the suspension...

sorry to bring up an old thread all.

Thought I'd do some of these this year but seems they've charged the licence requirements.

See the thread in Motorsport for more info. Anyone else thinking of doing this sort of stuff?

all your need is AASA licence which you get on your first day after showing your road licence and that your car isnt 100% rust.

and paying the $120 reg fee of course. :P

Does the AASA Licence qualify you to drive on any track? Or do you have to get a seperate track licence for each venue?

As I'm figuring this out myself, it seems it depends on the licence. The AASA licence is $55 a year.

For example go the AASA licence for QR but as far as I know the only other open track around here is at Warwick which only has club days no open track days like the SAS are.
