back to topic...

Something that AJ and I have been discussing is making this into a competition...
i.e.

Several Areas in which each state has to earn points...
i.e.
State with most cars - 10 points
Have a dyno afternoon and state with highest avg kw gets - 10 points
Collect stuff along the cruise to coffs - different points per item
etc etc etc

State that wins has to do something like wash the other states cars, etc...

ideas??
lets not & say we did ;)

mmm nah... I dunno... I spose I don't mind the idea.. but not so muc hthe washing the cars thing as the reward / punishment... I don't mind chipping in a few $$ to buy the NSW guys a round of drinks or something if they *somehow manage to out do us ..
but...maybe it should just be for bragging rights or something...
cause.. for ;
1. my car will already be clean & polished for the weekend
2. i'm not letting someone else wash my car unless they're a pro..
3. it's not really fair to punish the people turning up by making them do stuff / fork out $ just cause their state sucks & hardly anyone turned up :P
4.) it would be more of a deterrent from getting people to come along than an incentive..
5.) i'm gonna be too busy having a lazy weekend to wash someone's car .. does that even make sense? too busy being lazy?

The treasure hunt thing is a good idea, there was discussion about doing something similar a while ago but nothing ever came out of it... it could even be that we have to get stuff that you normally wouldn't be able to.. like getting someone's name badge from macca's or a maccas hat or something - so we'd actually have to go in & try to convince them to give it to us ;) could be more fun than say, get a rock from the beach at burleigh or something ..

We could also make it that we have to get photo's of us at all the major tourist spots on the way down there etc.? big banana, big lobster, a pic taken at the border etc..?

i dont know about the treasure hunt.... like what can we put as items...
along the way:
largest sea shell...
longest maccas fry....
name badge with the lagest name...
most cars of the same colour....
largest bug splat on the car
cheapest single fuel reciept
longest maccas straw antena ;) (i'm pro at this lol, last time we had a 5m one and went from bris to gold coast with it on a volvo lol)
the least reliable car
worst music in cd/dvd collection
worst hair
loudest out fit
the most parts of random ppl's work uniforms collected (not including name badges, but hats, ties.... shirts... pants? o_0')

if we go fishing maybe, largest fish

how does that sound to u lot? lol
just have to make sure it's fun and interesting things.

nice and suttle lol
pay for dinner... or... they have to buy and cook the bbq (if we r going to have a bbq, doesnt cost much at all, but its the fact they r serving us etc, u know :D), or if they are cheap... a round of drinks (tops $10 per person rather than about $20 for dinner)

I think we need to set down the rules as well ;)

Starting with;

is it going to be by the amount of FTO's that show up ... or the amount of members that are there? cause those NSW'halers are bound to sign up their mates as members & bring them along ;) dirty cheats :P

Maybe make it both

Most cars - 15 points
Most people (registered or not) - 10 points

theres so many things we could do... should be great fun

Especially the collect things along the way... Did the same thing for trip to schoolies (used to live in nsw)...

Collected things like road cones (1 point each)
Roadworks signs (2 points each)
Street Signs (3 points each)
Maccas Trays (1 point each)
Randoms Phone numbers (usually being maccas personel) (2 points each)
Best photo from the journey judged by a random coffs local (5 points)

etc etc
