hi all i have the following head unit DEH P1Y and the problem is i disconnected the battery and im not surei f i pressed osmehting but now it has the word MUTE across it i cant hcange volume i cant turn it up or down no sound watsoever it just says mute how do you un mute it?

You didn't mess around with any wiring while the battery was out. My initial thought was a problem with the phone mute lead that some head units have.

It could be locked .. disconnecting the battery might have triggered the security function, did the instruction manual include a default unlock code or a specific sequence of buttons to press to unlock it? or have you ever had to set a pin number or a CD that you need to insert etc...?
