YOUNG AND COOL wont insure me
Yeh just called them up for a quote and they wouldn't insure me because I've had a license suspension. Any other companies who will? I'm 19 and apart from the suspension, have a perfect driving record.

to give you an idea, it was going to be i think $470 for third party fire & theft & my comprehensive premium this year was $1050 or so .. but thats rating 1 with a clean record & 5 years driving

GIO have a custom cars division... I am with them ...
Shannons wont tough me cause the suspension of my licence over 3 (almost 4 years ago) Young and Cool were OK with me, but cost too much, and pretty much the same for all other places.
Gio's insurance will beat any quote you get by 10% btw ... So shop around and then go to them ...

You guys have got to remember, we're not all insuring the same car! There's more variables then just where, age, experience and driving history...
The amount you're insuring full comp... ie agreed value / market value... and then the actual value of the car... then the list of modifications, if it's man/aut... the actual person giving you the quote. All these things can vary it hugely. Hell I've had the same company offer me 2 different quotes on the same car varying by up to as much as $500... another day they flat out refused to insure me

I couldnt agree more.boarsai wrote:You guys have got to remember, we're not all insuring the same car! There's more variables then just where, age, experience and driving history...
But say your early 20's with roughly 30 - 40% no claim, you've got the car insured for about $12k and you've got no mods $1500 is still cheap.
My situation is that above + wheels + insured for $16k and it costs me $2600 so eThix definately has a good deal. Though his excess could be massive (mines only $1000).

21 years old (22 in a couple of weeks), clean driving history, 17' wheels, air intake & extractors
$1070 per year + $500 excess
