Over here in NZ - My Install

Post by ftoohh »

thought id give you guys something to look at, see what reactions i get :)

2 x 12" Fusion DVC subs + 2 6.5 powerplant 2ways in boot
1000w 5ch amp
2 x 6.5 fusion components in each door (moulded bottom secton of door)
3way 6x9s in rear
extra set tweeter in front corners of dash as well (helps with staging)
1.5 farad capacitor (not pictured - has since died under load lol and been removed... anyone need a paperweight?)
(plus a glovebox mounted PSP - good for extra music and movies)
So far have picked up a 3rd, and a 2nd for sound quality, running a mere 130dB with sound quality settings :) made me happy :)

TO FOLLOW:
Rear seat going byebye, and being replaced with custom enclosure with 2 x powerplant 15" subs, 2 x monoblock amps (1 for each sub) and two more capacitors :))

glass cubes, no real function except to make people stop and stare

did all work myself, took 4 days for the install (all new cables throughout) and used all the same colour cables so it looks tidier at the amp end (silver). took 3 days on top of that to make all the bits of glass the same size (approx) and set them into flase floor around amp..... wont be doin that again in a hurry

yeah the first pic was done in a carpark building  hence the leftover guardrail on the ground.
the fog light pods (after several attempts) were easy, spray on tint, but emptied tint into an airbrush pot for a smoother (and heaps easier) application, then clearcoated them to make them look more part of the car. found that tint tended to go "matte" finish, and using it out of a can was just hopeless

i like your mates wheels.... just look a little smaller than mine. shouldve gone for the 20's.....

hehe, they're my wheels ;) they're 17's ... didn't want to go any higher, all the FTO's with 18"s that I test drove before I got this one rubbed on the wheel arches (wrong tyre size I guess)

The next ones I get will probably be 16" lightweight ones anyway..

upgraded battery alright! got a mate in the industry to source me one that would just squeeze in there, and its a pretty tight fit. had to make new brackets to hold it down even.
ran 2 x 8 gauge power through chassis rail into boot, tested 8 and 4 gauge and they worked out the same voltage drop, but the 8 gauge was easier to get through a couple spots.
car has evolved a little more, just finished door pods 2 days ago, sorting pics as we speak.

will be visiting auckland in the weekend (4 n rota nats - not entered this year though) but dont know if i'll be taking fto up, might be drinkin and taking the passenger seat option :)

feel free to pm me if your headin down here and we'll meet up somewhere if ya want
