I have a data log setup for my GTO. My model was neither the OBD1 or 2 and is the hybrid that Ben mentioned earlier. I'm sure the plug is the same as the one my FTO had but who knows if the same protocol is used.
If someone wants to have a go of mine on their FTO I'm happy to oblige. It was expensive though so I might ask the people I got it from if I can do any damage to it etc.

Ok reply from HHH is below. just need a willing test monkey now. Any volunteers. The relays he's speaking of are thermo fans etc which you can test using the software.
The FTO question is a very interesting one and if I'm honest this is where your help may come in very handy. We have no reason to believe the Hybrid Logger won't work on 1995-1999 FTO's but testing opportunities to confirm this have never materialised. As our Hybrid logger is a passive logging device except when switching off/on relays it will definitely not harm either the car or your Kit. Initially until you have established and confirmed a connection please refrain from trying any of the relays as these may be different on the FTO. Assuming you establish a connection OK, fault code reading and datalogging should work.

I'm happy for anyone in brissy to have a go at mine. For the GTO at least ABS is NOT disabled with the HHH logger. Can monitor basically everything that has a sensor. Also has the option of adding your own sensors to the system.
I got it mainly to monitor knock and IDC but it's nice to see everything.

Yea the software seems really good - information overload really. I need to take some time to understand everything. As I said I picked up an error code (62 Intake air control valve position sensor).
Error codes just show when you plug the cord into the MUTT plug without the software ill add (the flashing engine light)
Yes I have had it on while driving around - gives good real time info as well as playback later - only issue I picked up is it constantly showed my speed at 2900km/h which would be impressive Didnt have abs light on - cant say I really stepped on the brakes to find out though - will test later today once I put my intake manifold back together.
Some pics off my laptop
Main screen - allows you to filter what you datalog ect - does show real time data as well
Graphs from a wee drive - can filter whats shown with the boxes on the left
Some of the guages -
