My Car Respray
Hey all. My brother-in-law is putting up photos of my respray on the net so anyone who is interested can take a look at the progress. Colour should be going on late next week....

Re: My Car Respray
Looks nice ... Exactly what I did to my Evo Project... You can't beat a back to bare metal re-spray ....testlabmonkey wrote:Hey all. It was just coincidence that so many silver FTO's were there on the cruise you came on, normally we have a little more variety lol, although I used to have my location as "Silver FTO capital of Aus"S1LVERFISH wrote:spray it silver... S.A. needs more silver FTO's
Not to worry though, I heard he was spraying it HOT Pink...
Ben : Looks good mate. Cant wait to see the finished product. Did you find much about your car with it pulled apart and stripped back ?

Looking good Ben.
Brings back fond memories of stripping and respraying my Escort... Or maybe I'm just remembering seeing her rolling after the paint job and forgetting the hours of torture that went into it? It was a while ago...
Look forward to seeing her cruising with us again. As it has been mentioned, there was an extreme lack of color on our last cruise.
Your hot pink car woulda stood out for sure

Colour has not been disclosed and unfortunately i didnt think of hot pink otherwise that surely would have been the colour of choice.
I will be making sure no colour shots go up on the website until after its first cruise. Depending on the weather will depend on how long till its back on the road.
But I will tell you it aint going to be black, silver, hot pink or green... so keep guessing.
Only 1 panel and the front bar were replaced and a "little" bit of bog was replaced. Rob has done a good job so far though. cant wait to see the colour go on.

The quote to respray my car as a basic respray (no panels removed sand back spray over old paint) was $5K... if you want it done properly you would be going very close to the $10K mark... thank god i dont have to pay that sort of figure.StewGood wrote:LOL - NO MORE SILVER FTO'S!
how much is it to respray nowdays?
And yes we remember where you live just things are a bit slow around here with a pregnant wife and all that .

Nice try, we all know that you just replaced a panel. Even got the writing on it still from the wreckers... and you've got a long way to go to be like me...testlabmonkey wrote:Pics updated.. look one panel is done.... so i lied its going to be silver
Its only cos I wanna be like Sparhawk when I grow up....

Patience.... hopefully will be up and running soon but maybe not ready until a March cruise. Colour looks f**king hot.... you so wont miss me passing you on the streets . Trick will be keeping it under wraps (literally) until its first cruise. I can just imagine Xanetia "dropping in" once the car is back in the carport :p.
The car is also getting some nice shinny new 18" rims on it too so wont even look anything like the old car. New stereo, steering wheel and gear stick knob are already sitting in my spare room waiting for the outside to be completed.
Personally I'm just happy i dont have holes in my boot lid anymore .
EDIT: btw dont you just love the baby bonus.... lol (jk)
