Sump gasket and engine rocker cover leak

Post by Oragami »

Hi people,

I have found out that me sump gasket and engine rocker cover leak on me FTO. Is it serious issue? I will find abit of oil stain on the gound underneath the FTO if i parked at a certain spot for a day or two. it's not much, the stain just about the size of a 50cents coin.

anyone know a good mechanic to fix that problem + noisy lifters in melbourne??

Please advice.... 8O

Cheers,

BMT knows their sh*t when it comes to building mega-mumbo turbos, but i'm not very sure about their workmanship and knowledge when it comes to servicing imports like FTOs...

You could also try:

N1 Service Factory Clayton/Blackburn
Ward While Motors Box Hill

There are a few threads about servicing / workshops, just do a quick search and you'll find some...

Get yeah socket set out mate!
Bugger paying someone to do a little job like that, seriously, ask a mechanically minded mate if you don't want to tackle it.
If you have a GPX your tappets will only need adjusting, if you don't have a GPX, they'll need replacing.

very easy to fix, do it yourself!

the rocker covers are easy to remove, but the rear cover requires the removal of the inlet manifold.

sump gasket is so easy its silly! :)
