NOS and TURBO

Post by I8A4RE »

Ok we all all know a standard FTO engine can handle NOS and a standard FTO engine can handle a turbo (as long as your name isnt sam). But can a standard engine handle 5psi from the turbo and a shot of nos at the same time??? or is this just pushing the friendship a little to far?

IMO ... It would be too much ...

If you have a turbo, and you run say 10hp shot of NOS ... Doesn't the hp double ??? I was told that once before, but don't really know that much about NOS ...

logically speaking a 50hp shot = 35kW

5psi = 40kW

so logically speaking 35kW shot nos would equal about 4.5psi from a turbo

so the nos when on would put as much stress on the engine as 9.5psi?

Yeah, you can only run small shots on turbos & it has a much bigger effect. The biggest shot guys were running in turbo cars last week at Oran park was a 75hp shot into an R34 with 400kws & forged internals. I run a 100 shot.

Get the turbo setup working reliably then try it.

Redline was running standard imjectors so is wild ride and kermut so i thought 210's would be more than sufficent. Where can i find 240's for under $50

i would say its too much

i was running 125hp shot in my evo but thats with forgies but since then have sold the nos kit for another means of added power.

best thing to do would be to decomp and/or forge and run more boost.
