NSW - SOLDSKI'S - White Lightning '94 GR FTO

Post by scarecrow »

Edited with respect to forum knowledge, original car sales ad can be found here:
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/pr ... 0&trecs=28

I've owned this car since 2005, back in the day when it was a bit of a rarity to see an FTO driving past. I'm very sad to see her go, in fact, on cold winter nights my girlfriend would sometimes catch me snuggling up to her warm engine in the garage.

It's a real head turner with its deep exhaust note, and aggressive body kit - however its certainly not ricey. I've only ever recieved positive comments, so I suppose you could say its been loved by all!

It must go however, as quickly as possible. I'm moving out closer to work to a unit with no parking space, and no furniture (yet).
  • * Recent MAJOR service $1,500 at UAS - the FTO service gods w/receipt.

    * Plenty of tread left on expensive performance tyres, Goodyear GSD3's upfront. Road insurance w/receipt.

    * Faux-leather seats, no-one's picked that they're not the real thing.

    * Carbon fibre trim which will NOT be seen on any other FTO in Australia (custom seat belt guides done overseas).

    * Carbon fibre drink holder, racing pedals, and centre console as well.

    * Aftermarket clock/voltage gauges, deep dish silver dash dials.

    * Red accents all round! All dash lights to red LEDs, red dash surround, red vents, red rear parcel shelf. Red stitching. Its a sexy beast inside.

    * Brilliant Boston Acoustic FS60 front splits, aftermarket pioneer rear's, and an aftermarket double-din CD player with AUX in for iPods/etc.

    * Fully adjustable Tein front end coilovers with pillow mounts, Konig? height adjustable rear coilovers.

    * Whiteline sway bar.

    * Apexi podfilter and header-back 2.5" exhaust, with 5" canon.

    * Defi Heads-Up-Display - great at nightime! Shows the speed on the windscreen.

    * 1 year registration and green slip PAID already for your enjoyment.

    * Bonus - Removable rear wing! Currently unattached, bolts on/off.
HOWEVER! Please note the following:
  • * Front bar is in very poor condition - no problem for me, its been like that since purchase.
    * Sideskirts are also in poor condition.
    * Not-so-minor accident in 2005 requiring replacement rims x2 and front drivers fender. However, the car was put back together ship shape and there is no residual structural damage.
    * Paint in general is showing its age.
    * Holes in bootlid from removal of stock spoiler. These are covered with white plugs. Looks a little ugly.
    * Rear bushes/front droplinks on order from UAS.
    * Recent stepper motor issue (intermittent stalls at idle) the first problem I've ever had with her, however investigated by Browns Auto Electricians w/receipt. Certified working, however all they did was reset the ECU. The problem has yet to reappear but the stepper motor may need replacement ($125 from Nardak in Frenchs Forest)

SPECIAL FTO AUSTRALIA PRICE: ONE BILLION DORRAH
But seriously, $9,999. And not a penny more! Negotiable for a penny or two less though, but bear in mind the $1500 spent on a major service only last week, and full one year rego + green slip paid up already.

Good luck with sale man

Yup, g'luck Joel.

And FYI this car has been in the club since its inception as a forum in 2002, its previous owner was Adriano, so she's always been well looked after.

Well on the plus side - I haven't had to pick up a bus timetable yet ;)

Seriously - carbon fibre seatbelt guides! Who wouldn't want one :)

Am I asking to much for it?

Tricky question there... yes and no.

No, if it's a mechanically sound example that's had all the right work done at the right times, $10,000 is a fair ask.

Yes, if you want to move one quickly. Unfortunately, our cars just aren't holding much of a resale value at the moment... seems you've gotta be in it for the long term, or be prepared to take a big hit when you want out.

Good luck with it though, if you wait long enough you'll get your asking price I think.
