Righto,

Looking to Dynamat my car from top to bottom... and i know that this is a very popular thing for FTOs (as they're so damn noisy thanks to a lack of factory sound deadner)..

I'm needing probably two bulk packs...

I've shot off a couple of emails to dynamat distributers...

I will be ording bulk packs only.

The best price ive seen so far is around $238 a pack... Usual is about $300...

Just let me know who has some interest in this... If there's enough numbers, we'll get this going...

Feel free to shoot me some ideas as well...

Update:
Just got a reply from a distributer...

Discounts as follows...

10+ buy – less 3.5% ($229.67 ea)
15+ buy – less 5.0% ($226 ea)
20+ buy – less 8.0% ($218 ea)

Not inc postage... This company is based in Sydney. So Syd people can pickup themselves, otherwise QLD ppl, can get ours shipped to me and i'll distribute.. other states can organise the same if they like....

Starting a list:
Be sure to put your name twice if you want two lots... (as the discount applies to amount purchased...)

how many packs would you need to do the whole car??

Im hoping two will be more than enough... And im going crazy... like behind the dash sh*t...

Also this is the good stuff... safe for use on the roof, etc...

I have used this before... It increases the quality of the car ten fold.. the doors sound more solid... Rattles decreases... sound system sounds clearer and louder.. road noise dissapears...

Realistically, using two packs would be lucky to add 20kg (evenly distributed through the car too...) So weight wont touch on performance too much..

In top end sound systems this can add around 2-3db to a reading... (which is a lot!)

Hey mate,

to do the whole car (boot, doors, floorpan, rear parcel shelf, rear quarter panels, roof & bootlid), I would estimate that you would need 4 of the Bulk Packs.. So you're looking at almost $1000 - Well worth it IMO its great stuff. Talk to the guy on ebay that sells them & see if he will give you a discount for multiple orders, they're already $245, so I'm sure he could go a bit cheaper.

I've got the equivalent to 2 & a little bit Dynamat Bulk Packs in my car at the moment .. & its been enough to do the floorpan, rear parcel shelf, interior rear quarter panels & wheel arches.

I still need to do the boot, doors & roof .. but it will be at least a month or 2 before I can afford some more Dynamat I'd say ..

also, they're about 8-10kg each from memory (If that interests you to know)

I think they are 36 sq foot per pack and 9 sheets, and apparently 20 sq feet is enough for the boot (4-5 sheets).. 2 or 3 sheets for the doors might be enough so you might be able to stretch 1 bulk pack for all those..

If you're after good bang for buck, then you can't go past using Sound Insulation Expanding Foam .. Anywhere from $8-18 will buy you a can of it (not sure how many cans you need to fill all the cavities in your car though, but 2 cans should fill both rear quarter panels..)
Just be careful not to fill any drainage holes ;)

Hell, at that price I might as well just get from ebay. Can't see the GB price saving being more than P&P to NZ!

Cheers
