Hm ok,

well my problem is a bit of a head f***.

I have a GPvR FTO with a GPX transmission inside (private seller miscommunication). We only realised half way installing that its not the right one. Originally it didn't fit so we custom made CV joints to allow it to work. Now
FTO with problem with the speed sensor. When it is plugged in the car drives and normally but soon only gets into gears 2 and 3 and the Neutral sign flashes with no pauses. I can drive with all 4 gears when speed sensor is unplugged, but I will have no speedometer.

Should I buy new input and output speed sensors? and off a GPX now or a GPvR?

alternatively i could unplug the speed sensor and buy an external speedometer at Repco or something to save $$$

I might have a pair of speed sensor you can borrow, see if it is the problem. I reckon thats what it is.
There is no difference between GPX & vR sensors, a sensor is a sensor.

The primary differences in the tip boxes of a vR vs a GPX is the diff (vR has LSD, GPX will most likely not, although it was an option) and as you've found out, the driveshaft / CV spline sizes, 25 vs the larger 27. Its unfortunate the combination you've ended up with, as I've seen vR tip boxes with 25 splines & GPX tip boxes with 27 splines & vice versa.

Yeah and its a pain because the tranny is pretty much useless now out of my car. My other option which is safer is to buy the right gearbox but it'll cost me an arm and leg :(

But wow! are you serious? you are a life saver if I could borrow them! thanks a million

My engine line came on yesterday so today I tried to extract my codes but no lights came on..

I stuck one end of wire in the terminal shown in the picture, and taped the other end to the metal of the seat rail
Turned the key to ACC and while all the other accessories powered up, none of the dash lights flashed at all

Did I do something wrong?

Still no luck.

I noticed though, my connector is the other way around then the one in the picture, like completely back to front. (picture for reference)

So I did some googling, and apparently OBD2 is used from 96' onwards, my car being a 94, which leads me to believe its an OBD1 plug
And to get the codes from that, I need to use a voltmeter as shown here: http://www.mivec.co.nz/tech/Mitsu_DiagCode.pdf

Does this sound right?

Plug the wire in the top left hole on your diagram.

Air flow meter and speed sensor try reset by disconnect battery then drive and see if they return.

Ok, I knew I wasn't wrong when I suspected the ABS was screwy.

Seems the front right ring and sensor are screwed?
Funny thing is I've recently replaced the sensor, however, haven't cleared the codes, so may do that.

2Hz N light.

Engine light flashes non stop?

EDIT: ABS would only show errors when ALL relays and fuses were in, despite the instructions. Have I Gen Y'd an update?

Ok, good, so, from that.

Engine: Fine
Gearbox: Fine
ABS: fudged drivers front ring.

EDIT: Hang on, realised I've read them ass about.
Rear drivers sensor is fudged...

Front's been replaced, it's not the ring at all.

EDIT 2. disconnected the battery for a minute.

ABS: 11, 13, 53

ABS fuse is staying out.
