GREAT OCEAN ROAD CRUISE - Sat 11th October

Post by khunjeng »

AT least 5 cars are definite starters, so if you have not been on a cruise, this is the one to come to.

There will be two options : stay overnight or return. The overnight people will drive further the next day before the return. If you dont want to yuo can turn around at the Apollo bay stop point and go back to melb in a good time.

post up your intrested so we can get ideas for the BQQ or food

The details (I have updated these a bit from the sticky post):

GREAT OCEAN ROAD CRUISE

DATE - Saturday 11th October

MEET POINT 1 - Village Green Hotel
Corner of Springvale Road & Ferntree Gully Road
(opposite Brandon Park Shopping Centre)
TIME - 8.00am til about 8.30am
(just text me if you're runnin late)

MEET POINT 2 - Hoppers Crossing
(location yet to be decided)
TIME - 9.30am til 10am

whos invited?
ex-members, new members, the usual suspects or someone who checks out the site once a month.
if you've got an interest in FTO's, you're welcome on board.

More Details to follow.

Regards

I'm down assuming I have a car at that point. Otherwise I would be more than happy to decrease someone's power-to-weight ratio by sitting in the passenger seat of their FTO.

Are actually gonna stop there and have lunch and sh*t or are we just driving the whole way?

yep, lunch is a definite... i'll pack an esky for a bbq if the weather is good enough ;)
otherwise we might stop for a countermeal at a pub if the weather sucks.

i'm not gonna overnight it on the GoR,
will turn around and head back eventually
but if anyone else is interested in it, feel free.

hey joel, any suggestions for a meet point over on the west side?
looking for something with a decent sized carpark,
not too packed on a saturday morning, and possibly a piss-stop.

I would recommend where the old Hoppers Crossing Soccer Club used to be. It's around the corner from Max's house.

It's called 'Mossfiel Reserve' on Heaths Road in Hoppers Crossing.

If you have a look at this map the driveway into it has been circled. It's up to you to just find out on the Melways how to get there. Then if I'm hitching a ride, you can just send one mofo to pick me up from my place about 5 mins down the road.

Jealous!

Did the great ocean road through to Portland in December, first time through and it was beautiful (not in the FTO unfortunately!)

Hope you all have a great time!

Yes I still have my FTO but it's the workshop getting a heart transplant at the moment.

Have you got a rough idea what time we'll be back? I have my 10 year highschool reunion happening that night so I have to be back at 6pm. If we're gonna be later than that then maybe you can just bypass Hoppers Crossing altogether. My new car is still on delivery so won't have a car at all this weekend so I got no choice but to ride shotgun.

If we can get back before 6pm though I can come in very handy as a camera man for our next music video. ;)

If you can have me back by 6pm then I'm in. You can all meet at Mossfiel reserve then just send someone to get me coz I'm about 5 mins down the road from there.

I will get the camera ready for filming. I hope I can get it less jittery than the last vid. Hope we can find a secluded spot so we can film very specific footage. I can probably get a couple of hours but will only need about 3-5 mins.
