Waterskiing/Wakeboarding Near Albury (February)

Post by Nacho »

Anyone interested in going around Feb? I've never been myself but from memory someone has access to a power boat from here. Doesn't need to be super fast like a turbocharged V8 strapped to a boat.

Would be better if we make it a weekend overnighter.

Anyone know if Max is back in town? Just thinking we'd all be pro wakeboarders if he brings his rifle, points it at us while we're wakeboarding and we have to dodge the bullets James Bond style.

Why would we need to do that? I got one sitting in my garage ready to go.

I'm hoping we'll find someone with a boat. Otherwise anyone know if you can hire those things? Where we're going is pretty popular for that sort of thing so maybe they hire equipment there.

Whatever suits you best as your the owner of the boat. I'm struggling to find one here in Vic so I'm even looking around at hiring one. It would be awesome if you can come down and join us.

So to do that maybe we should all lock in a date very soon so I can organise accomodation/camp site. If you guys want we can do it over a weekend or spend a whole week there...whatever suits everyone.

Rough show of hands who is coming?

Awesome...I think mentioned that Chris and Nik wanted to come along as well. Once we get their response and hopefully the old man's then we can finally set a date. Should be a rocking weekend.

I think it really depends on the owner of the boat. Ben which weekends are you free in Feb?

And Chris...I know yachts have motors but is it possible to tow someone from a yacht? Bloody good idea though....we can probably sail that thing from Mildura all the way to Merimbula. ;)

I'm planning to take leave when the dates are locked in so it doesn't even have to be a weekend for me.....I am willing to hang around there for a while if people are keen to go longer.

Same I've never tried either which is I why I suggested it. I'm guessing it would be a lot like skiing or snowboarding except for the standing up part which is why we don't really need a 200bhp engine attached to whatever boat we get our hands on.

Where we stay will depend on what sort of accomodation I can get my hands on. I can either find a house or a campsite but methinks there is a chance that we can't leave a boat at a campsite unless they have a carpark. Maybe we can get a houseboat?

Either way there's no point in me looking for places to stay until we lock in a date.

So far we have:

Ben
Joel
Chris
Gav
Nikhan
Tarkus?
Cass?

These are the dates in question. Hey Ben why don't you just come down and stay for a whole week so we can make the drive for you worth your while..... ;) And Chris would we be able to sail your yacht down the Murray?

31/1 Jan/Feb
7~8 Feb
14~15 Feb
21~22 Feb
28~1 Feb/March

Anyone here on Facebook? I may actually get a quicker response that way.
