apart from needing 18" rims to fit them into.

Try the DBA website. They have a few to choose from. I would suggest something like the 4000 series rotors with some decent pads and fluid.

Here is a pic

if you've got the dosh, i was selling mine... not too sure anymore...

they dont come any bigger than 6 piston porsche brembo's.

They require a 353mm rotor to clamp on to.

they are massive..
currently asking $1700. Worth over $8k and are new...

You can get a complete upgrade for 17inch wheels including rotors/callipers etc via RPW or you can get from UK somewher but cant remember site cost should be around $1500+ or maybe you could go for evo or vr4 brake conversion.....

Early Evo (VR4) are the same twin spot brakes... Well as a GPX, so no real gain there ..

You could look at the 3000GT brakes ... I have seen them put on an Evo III, and the only problem for clearance was the wheels... Other then that it all fitted... So as the Evo III has the same brakes, I would assume that it should also fit the FTO ..

My plan was to get the dba 5000 series rotors from an evo4 and use the same calipers from my fto.. all you need is a new bracket the hold the calipers on because the bolts line up differently... evo 4 are 294 mm.. evo 3/fto are 276mm and are no different except they're 4 stud(?)

Evo V+ Brembos and discs, no point doing anything less than that or bothering with a different make conversion as they are a simple bolt on with only minor fabrication of brackets needed...

Clicky for $1200 (NZD) set of Evo VI Brembos in new Zealand

Check it out! Anything else is overkill and definitely a waste of money and effort.

Bit of an oldish thread, but I'll reply anyway as it is input.

Tenji I noted has GTO brakes.
Unfortunately doesn't know of how they are fitted, but we know they fit!
Can be sourced as well as FTO rotors...

GTO brakes will fit, you just need a 324mm rotor with correct offset & the mounting bracket. Guy in the UK is doing them.

What's the best option if I wanna keep 16s?

By best, I don't mean JUST performance. I mean overall:
- decent performance increase on stock
- fit with 16" rims
- value for money (NOT cheapest, but NOT most expensive either)
- minimum or no modification needed

Any ideas?

IMO the easiest would be Legnum/VR4 brakes. Just IMO though. Good bang for buck too

I suggest upgraded rotors, good pads and BLEED THE BRAKES that is one thing not many people do you would be suprised at how much better they work with new fluid
