Ideas for basic paintwork (not 56k friendly)

Post by FTEvolution »

Hey guys, after some constructive criticism please...

I have decided that I want to have my car 2 tone, seperated by a white line and have white wheels...

Something like this:

Image

That is the general idea, alternate changes along these next few pics...

A diagonal:

Half and half:

Just the top (very common here, not so keen):

Just the top 3rd:

Or corner to corner:

Please excuse the dodginess of the above editing, just a quick job really.

The theory with having the top half black is that I can happily use carbon bootlid and bonnet. Downside being that if I want a serious chance of lookin good in a show, I will need to paint the engine bay...

Another option which I quite like is this:

I think the first one could work. It does look different, but i think it looks pretty good. ;)

Dude... remember the late 80's?

There's a reason 2 tone stayed in the late 80's

Mate, I am a 70's child (albeit very late 70's), that's why I am all over this heh...

I am after something different with only a very minimal outlay: paint the bonnet and bootlid, paint the wheels then spray the half of the body, finally add the white dividing stripe.

The entire top of my car (bonnet/roof/bootlid) is oxidised from being outside all last winter, it looks really sh*tty (the pics I am using here are not recent). Painting the top half is what I am going to do anyways, either factory Passion Red, or black like this idea.

I am leaning towards this idea heh heh.

Keep the criticism coming...

Damn you!

I was keeping my project hardcore under wraps and gonna just suddenly post up pics when the jobs done.

Still not going exact details, but one of the lines there is what I'm going with

Was hoping no-one else would like 2-tone, atleast not enough to do it on their car.

Heh, as long as you don't choose my first picture, I am happy, then again, if you do, I'll take credit for it...

You can deposit payment to my bank account, PM'd

Nah, just kidding. But seriously, that first picture is the scheme I will probably go, but with the line in the second completed one...

Now just to find some wheels, running on VR4 sheels atm (sold the 18's a while ago)

It's upto personal preference I know but I find that quite :puker:

I guess it comes down to how you seperate it - To pull it off you have to make sure you do it right. Maybe a wave as opposed to a straight line would be much better I think.

Two Tone doesnt really work for me either, but if you are going to do it it would have to be diagonal. The first one is the best pick.

    ^^ LOL ...the best

The white line is way to thick... Thin it out and it could look alright....

You'll need alekezam on this one.... Microsoft paint looks sh*t.

Was ArcSoft Photostudio, the best I could lay my hands on at work lol

Anyways, it's not going to happen now. I showed miss cleopatra (aka my fiance) and all I got was a nice innunciated ENGGA SUKA!!!

So that idea is off the table now, looks like she wants a VS kit and a respray, possibly with a nicer red or maroon (which is fair since we are going halves in all future mods :D )
