Yep I'm definitely down for it. Looks like a fun project for me and my old man.

Umm, if you want to give this group buy a timeframe to end so people can make a decision?

Ok, called Queensland Transport today. For this mod to be legal, you'll need an engineer's certificate or some such.
They gave me two names and phone numbers of engineers in Brisbane. I'm going to try and call them tomorrow to have a chat to them about what is needed and to go from there.

On the plus side of things, this may mean that one Engineer will be able to certify several kits and thus reduce the cost of doing them legally. At least that's what I hope.

I'll keep people posted on how I go.

So I got in contact with an engineer about the modification. He couldn't give me a terrible lot of information but was mainly chasing after workshop drawings and installation guides.
Once I can send him those details, things can move forward.

The Engineer in question is Darren from Altra 9.

Awesome, keep us in the loop.
Also I forgot to ask him if he could do the engineering on multiple kits.

sorry. been really busy lately and took me a while to get a hold of Darren.

Anyway hes not sure what can be done. he thinks he can maybe make up an approval letter approving the kit itself but hes not too sure.

He is trying to find out from QLD Transport what can be done and i'll let you guys know when he contacts me back.

Well the guy hasn't got back to me so i rang QLD transport myself.

QLD transport says they are not illegal...if you have approval.
No mod plates are needed.
But they do need to meet engineering specifications.
The transport department has there own guys that will inspect the design.

I'll try to get the hinges on my car approved and that should cover it on all ftos as its the same kit on the same cars. or if not i can supply all the drawings needed for approval.
