G'day from Perth

Post by RichardH »

Hi everyone.

Kind of new around here (again)... kind of old too! It's been a long time. Still driving the same '95 GPX, which has continued to function as a great little weekend comp car.

Current FTO specs:

Suspension: Tokico dampers, King springs, Whiteline front/rear uprated swaybars, strut braces, camber/caster adjustment, nolethane bushes here and there.

Brakes: Slotted DBA rotors, Pagid Blue pads, braided hoses.

Engine: UAS downpipes, custom induction, Odyssey battery, UniQ ECU interceptor. Recent top engine overhaul for extra perfectness.

Wheels: 4 x Boring road rubber. 4 x Bridestone RE-55s r-comps. 2 x Dunlop r-comps. 2 x Advan r-comps. It's like TyrePower in my shed, only with more tyres.

Gearbox: Manual, with Evo III clutch-plate LSD.

Fashion victim stuff: c/f bonnet from UAS.

Dodgy car stuff: Gearbox has got noisy recently. The old "peeling plastic headlights" look.

Apart from the gear noise, it's hard to find fault with her mechanically. I wonder if the gears will all fall out one day, or if it will just go on grumbling at me for years. Time will tell...

Cheers,

Rich

PS. Earlier this month, the old ftowa.com domain reg finally lapsed. RIP FTOWA. Oh well. It was long-dead anyway, hehe.

Hey Richard welcome back.

I hope you can upload the info for checking fault codes. We often sent people over there for that. It was a great DIY.

Anyway enjoy ;)

No problem. I'll drop something in the DIY section in a moment!

Edit: No need - the info is already up here...

South of the river.

If you're not too far from Perth Int'l Airport, you should drop in the next time there's a motorkhana competition there. August, I think. Such a long wait - Classic Rally always seems to steal the track venue around this time of year. Haven't done CR yet - one day, one day...

Haha, yeah but the second line of that DIY has a link to your old website. Ours only has the info, it doesnt have the pics of where to look etc etc.

Ah, okay! Yep, I'll see if I can throw the images up on PhotoBucket and recycle the old web page as a DIY posting.
