GTO owner...where are the rest?

Post by Woodzy »

Hey, I've had a GTO for a bout 4-5years, but never really found any forums/clubs in Sydney, i havn't really looked that hard but yea, just wondering if anyone knows where GTOers hangout ect.... some decent contacts n stuff may pay off.
Do you guys lets GTO's tag along on ya Cruze's? :P

Any info really appreciated.

Woodzy.

Here is a few pics: 92' TT, 1st owner in Aus import 89,000 on the clock TTimer Boost Guage. The whole suspension was re-done in japan, it's extemley well balanced, and drifts amazingly in the wet haha. New Exauhst about 12mths ago 111, 000 on the clock now, i don't drive it that much. Hope you like :)

i like it more and more everyday, yes it's heavy, but i'm so used to it now i throw it around like it's a gokart, best thing is cambered corners on freeway changes using the 4WS but, 55% rear 45% front wheel drive works really nicley imo :)..but for drifting, i dunno, you'd have to disconnect the front, as i said, drifting is fun IN THE WET

Everytime I look at a GTO I regret not buying one
But I personally, did not like the handling.
Such a shame, they really are Mitsubishi Porn.

The later model GTO didn't have the pop up headlights. The earlier models, like the one pictured, did.

thats mint mate. these are definately rare cars on the road.

.... interesting bout the electronic handling. is it the same as the soarer/sc400 suspension which lets you lower/higher the car through the center console?

i remember reading somewhere that pop up or retractable lights were made illegal (dont know if the exact term was illegal) but they dont conform to ADR (i guess that does make them illegal lol) mitsubishi phased them out early as you see with the GTO (i think in 95) and Toyota finally did with the last of the MR2 SW20 in '99.
that said if you could make one come up at a time, you could wink at fellow drivers lol.

your gto looks very nice and it's like the gym rat older brother of the fto so don't see why both can't live in the same 'domain'...get it, domain, haha i'm gonna stop now :P

Cheers for the welcoming and nice comments guys.

The ECS on the GTO stiffens the ride, it's not installed on mine so i don't know how good it is, a lot of the stuff on it is 1st's for the era like the 4ws, abs, air bags, ecs, even twin intercoolers wasn't heard of then......let alone putting TT's on it and making it 4wd, there is a lot of stuff going on, not suprised it's so heavey lol
