Soo many threads - Tyre Wheel Size
OK .. So after trolling through, I still havent really found what I am looking for ...
So, am looking at a new tyre package tomorrow .. The wheels I will be using, I think are 17x10 and 17x9 ... will have to check out the offset tomorrow ...
I am looking at trying to get 225/45's for the rear ... So would 225 stretch on a 10" rim
Obviously, I would look to do the same at the front ...
Worse case, is I take the 225 rubber already on the car, put on to my previous rims .. Then ditch the 205/40's on the front, and go to the 225 or 235 ... What ever will fit best ..
Then the other question, is what is the biggest rim anyone has on the FTO (height and width), and what is the offset
Tyres and rims confuse me ... Grrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But by 8" or higher???Rambo wrote:biggest ive heard on fto is 20's with guards rolled.
Yeah that sounds like a plan.. Now only to worry about offset... To see if the rims will work...vipfto wrote:235/45r17 will be the go on front and maybe a 245/40or 45r17 rear
or 225 front 235 rear

think you already know my specs
18x9 +22
pics! i want to believe the 10wide can fit on the rear, but my 9wide used to scrub like all fuk against the arch when i drove over a hump or leaning through a tight corner. to fit a 10 on the rear with untouched guards you need the arches to be lipped and pulled or flared, stretched tyres and camber probly near negative 3, im guessing compared to my setup.
myself rear rims poked out of the arch by half a cm (stock camber, stock arch).
so i brought the beat down on the arches by lipping them to stop scrubing and while doing so thought id bash the arches out another 5mm to make the arch sit flush with the rims.
im certain with my arches, as they are now, i could go 9.5 wide. if i pulled them some more i could sit a 18x10 +15 with stretch tyres (stock camber). with negative 3 camber and some stretched tyres i could go 18x11 0 offset or 18x10 -5
yay for negative offset
i put the 9wides on the front and it stuck out by 2cm, it just looked wierd. so i lipped and pulled the front arches and now ive got 18x8 +29 and spacer. so now i can fit 9 wides on the front for sure.
trust me - a mallet and a heat gun/blow dryer can solve all your fitment issues hehe
regarding tyre sizes id go 225 front and 235 or 245 depending on how they sit with the gaurds.
its all trial and error

Yeah wasn't sure of your offset..
Will play around with em today.. I don't want to try rolling the guards just yet, but may look @ it..

bad news...
Ragemaster's were a 30 odd offset.. So the rears which were 9" didn't fit... The fronts were 8" and they looked mad... But, so I would get away from mix matched rims I did the following..
Took off the rear rims.. Put the 235 tyres on the on the two rims that were off the car...
Then got some 215/45's for the fronts. Cause they had no 225's... So Yeah.. Nice fit...

Nah.. I have 4 of the same.. The set on the car now is the same as the 2 that were on the front.. So yeah all good....J wrote:so your still mismatched
thought of putting a spacer on the rear? would clear the arms nicely
Cause the Ragemaster's were from an RWD the rim was actually resting on the suspension arm.. If I had of tried to put on a spacer it would have sat out past the guard..
I really liked the look of em too... I was going to put 2 Ragemaster's on, but wanted to get away from the mismatch look..
