the prob is the FTO is not north/south motor which restricts length of pipes

that is sweet looking kit but no way anything that long will fit there

See what your trying to do but you will be limited by what you can do for size.

the pics are only a eg for the exstractor length and the way I am looking at getting the pipes done.
It may not work at all but I am interested in seeing if it will.

Just get 'em to wip up something like this. Plenty of room under there for them to do it.

hurricanes are in!! and man do they feel different... its added a sound to the overall tone as well, sort of added more 'body' to the tone..

The only thing im a bit concerned about is that when i throttle about 30~50%, i hear this sound that i think is from underneath the car ish, more on the passenger side, it sounds like pouring sand into an aluminum sheet... what is that?

Fresh pipes always sound like that. Give them a month or 2 & they'll 'soot up' and the tinny noise will become more grumbly ;)

i never heard that with my new catback though!!
i think there was some metal dust in the extractors from when they were being made or something, and now they might be dancing around in the cat before the honeycomb coz maybe they cant fit thru so maybe i thought they were 'hangin out' there

But i'll see how it goes in a couple months. It brought the car to life! its orgasmic like Ohh Ehm Jee!

Reset your ECU as well, let it learn that it can push more gas through ;)

How long did it take you to swap them out?

not me, performance exhaust centre, took them 3 hrs, had weldings of brackets done. it also looked like a cock of a job!! but yeah i will disconnect the battery and start fresh

Oh and i used some vht ceramic flameproof header paint about 2 days prior to installation, and its already has tiny bubbles on the area of the headers where the exhaust gasses hit the first bend. what a piss off! the paint can also soft when dry!

Ok, new problem here, not sure if this is related to installing the headers or if the process has affected something, but after about 2 days after the headers, after work, drive home, everything is fine, i decide about an hour later to go to the shops, start the car, then the revs just drop and die. wtf?

I can rev it and all but when i let go of the throttle, it would just die... Had olly check it, he rekns its the TB butterfly not having enough gap when off the throttle. i rekn its the stepper. The car is fine when on a cold start, things are normal but after about 10mins of driving the problem comes in, it starts with it idling to at least 100rpm when i sit at the lights and it would feel like its about to stall. Should i fork out for a new stepper then? has anyone had the same issue or same situation(post headers installation stepper issue)?

You reset the ECU didn't you? It will take a day or 2 of driving for it to relearn how to idle.

If its still bad in a few days then I'd suggest yes, its killed the stepper. Check error codes to confirm, should read 15 for stepper, 14 if TPS.

its happened after the headers came in(i think the ecu was reset that time since they put some gadget to connect the red and black battery terminal together so they could weld brackets), its still happening now after disconnecting the battery for at least 30mins last night... it could be the idle screw as suggested in other threads.

Anyway, my work on sat got cancelled on account of some system outage over the weekend so i'll be able to get to brookvale earlier if nothing comes up, rekn you can also check it out ben ?

EDIT: guess i also need to look up how to check the friggin error codes.

If you disconnected the battery again last night, you will have reset the ECU again - hence its not idling properly. Just keep driving it, it will relearn to idle.

what ?! i thought disconnecting the battery resets the ecu... so there is a different thing to do other than disconnecting the battery to actually reset the ecu? 8O
